This month your wellness coaches want to remind you to be safe while enjoying your time outside of work. Check out the weekly wellness challenges for tips on how to stay safe while drinking.
WEEK 1: Be mindful of your consumption. This week we challenge you to slow down and take a moment to count how many alcoholic beverages you truly have in one sitting. Knowing how many drinks you usually drink each day or week can help you develop a healthier alternative, save money, and help you feel your best.
WEEK 2: Fool your friends! Find a non-alcoholic beverage you enjoy that will help you stay hydrated in between drinks. Flavored sparkling water, ginger beer, iced tea, cranberry juice, etc. are all great examples of non-alcoholic beverages you can easily swap to stay hydrated.
WEEK 3: Challenge your family and friends to go dry this week. Try and forgo alcoholic beverages this week to tune into how you feel when you don’t drink and to see how it affects your energy levels, workout performance, digestion, and overall health.
WEEK 4: Pledge not to drink and drive. According to the CDC, every day, 28 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This is one death every 51 minutes.
This week we challenge you to find a friend or family member to keep as an emergency contact for when you’ve had a few too many drinks and can’t drive home. If you can’t think of anyone in mind, call a car service such as Uber, Lyft, or a taxi.
